Now, meet TODAY’S guest:

Although he lives daily with a form of muscular dystrophy, Aaron White’s life is a far cry from the wheelchair-bound guests we used to see on the Jerry Lewis telethons decades ago. More than 18 years ago, he learned of his diagnosis and works to overcome the muscle and joint pain and weakness that has become his everyday companion.
Originally from Monterrey, California Aaron White worked for Regal Cinemas as a promotions coordinator for about 11 years and then decided to go back to school to get his cosmetology license.
After graduating from cosmetology school, he worked for a salon in Knoxville, Tennessee that led into production work with HGTV and Discovery Network, both headquartered right here in the small city I call home.
Aaron White then went into editorial photography for national brands when a YouTube video of an underground Avant-garde hair and makeup show that was done in Paris inspired him to produce his first runway show.
This is what I like to call a full-circle moment: Because of his own diagnosis, Aaron White decided to create the event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Initially, he thought a few friends in his industry would get together to help him produce the runway show, they’d have some fun, make some money to benefit a good cause, and afterward, they would all go back to their lives.
He had no clue that 7 shows later he would be regularly producing runway shows in Knoxville, bringing internationally recognized brands and Parisian couture to our Scruffy City. After a recent show done on a chic rooftop in downtown Knoxville was so well-received, he was introduced to singing sensation, The Voice champion Chris Blue, who is from Knoxville. Chris Blue wondered if Aaron White could produce a runway show for his birthday – and so he is!

And that brings us to today.

My friend, and recent guest Olivia Wolff told me about Aaron White. My producer DJ Roz told me she wanted me to book Aaron White for the show. I thought, “I’ve got to meet this guy!” I did and now I can’t wait to introduce him to YOU!
