When I invited Ty Cohen to be a guest on my show today, he asked if I wouldn’t mind using this gorgeous photo of his family for the post. That’s the kind of guy he is: a man dedicated to his family who is teaching his kids (and everyone he meets) important lessons about success and living life to it’s fullest.

Ty Cohen was born in one of the nation’s most crime-ridden and notorious housing projects, Father Panik Village in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Yet, that’s not the only challenge he had to overcome. Ty Cohen also was born with a chronic, life-threatening disease known as sickle cell anemia that tragically killed his older sister when he was only 12 years old. That same year, as he lie in a hospital bed, his mother was told Ty himself would not make it past age 17 because of the deadly disease.

Feeling like his fate was sealed, Ty Cohen spent his teen years careening toward death – either through the disease in his body or the fast, reckless life in the drug and gang-infested streets of the projects where he lived. Yet, survive he did because at a young age, Ty became a father. Unlike many other young men in his situation, that pivotal moment gave him the strength to turn his life around.

He started businesses and entered the corporate world, where he excelled. Ty Cohen discovered the vast field of personal development and decided to take the leap: he quit his corporate job to pursue his passion. He wanted to show other entrepreneurs how to become successful, starting with nothing, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Since then he’s moved his family to beautiful North Carolina and built his Kindle Cash Flow empire, based on his own on-going successes including taking one of his personal Amazon Kindle ebook publishing accounts from zero to $10,000 and then to more than $30,000 a month in sales! (Yes, please!)

I’ve been following Ty and his wife, Melida, who also works with the family business, for several years, getting to know them after a marketers cruise we enjoyed together. We’ve spoken at several events together and I always learn something from him. Being friends on Facebook, I often see Ty’s motivational posts and have recently become a member of his Kindle Cash Flow Mastermind FREE Facebook group. If you want to learn more about earning money and building a business, the community of more than 6,500 people is extremely supportive with lots of help and engagement in the group. And did I mention – it’s FREE?!

I’m looking forward to interviewing Ty Cohen today and I hope you enjoy the show, too! I think – beyond his story, he’s going to share some actionable tips, so join us for this episode!
