Now, MEET TODAY’S GUESTS:
What do an engineer and a hair stylist have in common? Well… for starters they’re married! Secondly, Jeannie and Randy Shank share a passion for helping people look and feel their best.
Randy’s story is like so many others. Studying and becoming a mechanical engineer, and progressively growing to an upper management director he found he wasn’t being fulfilled in his work. As he looked around, he knew he wanted to help people and was great with his hands. So he decided to become a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). However, as a problem solver Randy wanted to learn more about identifying and fixing the root cause of people’s pain vs. only treating the symptoms through massage. He discovered something called “Rolfing Structural Integration” and he says he has not looked back since completing the Rolf Institute’s rigorous schooling (see this video for why it’s called “rolfing – developed by a brilliant woman named Dr. Ida Rolf). Randy has found his true calling inducing positive permanent change through communication, observation, physical manipulation, and education. There is a specific Rolfing Ten Series “recipe” combined with tailoring your treatment specific to your unique needs and goals. We’ll hear more about this interesting “rolfing” technique today on the show.
Meanwhile, Randy’s wife Jeannie was a hair designer and enjoyed her work, but, like Randy wasn’t feeling as fulfilled, and so began to look around. She says, “Skin is so much more interesting!”
About five years ago Jeannie shadowed an aesthetician, and her true passion emerged. In 2014 she received her Laser Aesthetics Certificate from the Laser Institute in Philadelphia, PA. In 2019, Jeannie learned about Body Contouring Detoxifying Body Wraps and Cryoskin Body Sculpting, and is now a certified practitioner for M’Lis Body Contouring Wraps and Cryoskin Slimming and Toning Treatments.
Jeannie knows the daily discipline and effort it takes to get your body in the shape you want it to be in – because she herself is currently on a path to weight loss and food rehabilitation herself. She’s found the body contouring provides a way for her to help herself, and now her clients, who feel frustrated about their weight and size. Furthermore, Jeannie loves cooking healthy food and sharing the recipes and tips for making healthier choices and living better. Jeannie’s says her mission is “To help you be YOUR beautiful because everyone is beautiful; you define what beauty means to you,” and she is there to help you achieve it! She believes only you can do you, and you are awesome!
Together Jeannie and Randy have founded their business called “The Bodywork Collective,” located in the Sequoia Hills / Bearden area of west Knoxville.
